Can I feed Freeze-Dried dry/without rehydrating?

You can feed our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison either dry or rehydrated. Please ensure sure your pet has access drinking plenty of water. If rehydrating, we recommend rehydrating with warm -never hot- water or bone broth. Our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison can be left out for up to 12 hours after being fed dry before being thrown away. Our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison can be out for up to two hours if it is rehydrated and fed.

Can I use Freeze-Dried as a topper or mixer?

Absolutely. Using our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison as a topping to enhance the nutritional efficacy and increase palatability of your pup’s meal.

How do I store the Freeze-Dried product?

Our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison product should to be kept in a dry, cold environment. After opening, air should be removed from the bag before zip-sealing it to maintain optimal freshness.

How long will my Freeze-Dried product remain fresh at room temperature?

Just like you would with any other dry pet food (like kibble), store and serve it. If you decide to rehydrate then any remaining food should be thrown away after two hours of offering.

Are your raw recipes complete and balanced nutrition? Do I need to supplement my pet's diet with anything else?

Our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison meals follow the nutritional profiles of AAFCO established for adult maintenance, providing complete nutrition. We are constantly working towards our product being complete and balanced and expect them to achieve this by the end of 2024.

Does the Freeze-Dried product undergo a high-pressure process (HPP) intervention?

Why does the Guaranteed Analysis for Freeze-Dried appear higher than Frozen Raw Venison?

All Huntaway products have the analyses listed "as is," straight out of the bag. The analysis we offer for our Freeze-Dried Raw Venison is accurate to what is in the bag. When rehydrated according to suggested feeding guidelines (1/2 cup of water/broth to 1 cup of product), the guaranteed analysis of the freeze-dried product nearly resembles that of our Frozen Raw Venison.
